Minnesota state history

Minnesota has some cool history! The land that is Minnesota has been occupied for around 12,000 years. There were many native American tribes. Such as Souix, Cheyanne, Arapaho, and Ojibwa. After winning the American Revolutionary War, United States took over the land. Now  known as the midwest region. Minnesota became the 32nd state on May 11, 1858.

Fun fact!  At the start of the Civil War, Minnesota, a union state, became the first state to volunteer troops to fight.
